Emergency management is normally a function of a government agency. Information is furnished here so that you may better understand what the local, State, and Federal government approach is and what their activities are based on in an emergency. You will find that they have a lot more to worry about than you do as an emergency communicator. You should be familiar with how they look at emergencies. If you have a better understanding of "what" and "why" something is happening, it will make you a better communicator.
